Put Your DAF to Work in Colorado

Your Donor Advised Fund can help The Walls Project grow our impact across Colorado. Since expanding here in 2022, we’ve seen tremendous momentum, and with your partnership, we can do even more:

  • Hire two full-time change-makers to be embedded in the communities we serve. Right now, we are fortunate to have an incredible part-time employee in Aurora, CO who is effectively carrying the workload of two full-time staff. To sustain and grow our impact, however, funders want to see deeper capacity and long-term stability on the ground. A Donor Advised Fund investment would give us the resources to expand our team, dramatically increase our reach, and position The Walls Project as a true force for transformation in Colorado.

  • Secure a permanent location in Aurora to create a safe third space where youth can learn, create, and thrive after school. We have bold aspirations to meet the growing needs of Aurora’s youth and families, and that begins with establishing a permanent home. Our vision is to purchase and transform a physical space into a Walls Project–centric hub—a place where creativity, education, and community intersect. This site would provide dedicated areas for mural arts and maker activities, after-school programming, and workforce development initiatives, while also serving as a trusted anchor where youth can safely gather, express themselves, and build skills for the future. By securing this location, we can ensure stability, deepen our roots in Aurora, and create a lasting asset for the entire community.

  • Expand our Agroforestry Programming by training and certifying the next generation of arborists and agroforestry professionals, supported by dedicated land for year-round, hands-on training. Our paid apprenticeship program in Baton Rouge currently boasts a 100% pass rate, making it one of the most successful agroforestry training pipelines in the nation. Apprentices there receive intensive instruction in arboriculture, horticulture, and green infrastructure while gaining field experience planting trees, maintaining community food forests, and preparing for industry certifications.

We want to bring this same level of success to Colorado, where the demand for qualified forestry and green infrastructure professionals is rapidly outpacing supply. By investing in dedicated training land and expanding our apprenticeship model, we can build a sustainable workforce that strengthens local ecosystems, enhances climate resilience, and creates meaningful career pathways for youth, returning citizens, and underrepresented communities.

By recommending a grant from your DAF, you can help us build healthy, resilient communities across Colorado, where young people, families, and neighborhoods can flourish.
