Access to affordable transportation

The Places We'll Go

Cities have been designed for cars and not for its residents. The average cost of transportation in Louisiana is 25% of median household income. In many underserved communities in Baton Rouge, access to affordable transportation is limited to walking, bikes, or buses. This often affects impoverished families’ abilities to get to school and/or work. Baton Rouge’s roads lack the proper accommodations for pedestrians and bicyclists, making this mode of transportation dangerous and even deadly.
