Human Rolla-Dex

Our Futures Fund program is always recruiting and expanding it's outreach efforts, hoping to reach as many teens and families as possible. In the effort to best meet our trainees where they are, we've recruited one of the best people connectors in the city, Dexter N. Jackson.

Dexter N. Jackson is an accomplished creator, musician, speaker, and leader. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a native of Plaquemine, Louisiana Dexter has spent his entire career working to improve the lives of historically disadvantaged youth. He began his career as a camp counselor in Baton Rouge and New York and in 2014 transitioned to the classroom where he taught 1st-5th grade.

In 2016 he founded the non-profit The Exchange Foundation which sought to give low-income youth life-changing experiences through travel, learning, and service. Before it was disbanded in the 2019 Exchange brought participants to Atlanta and New York City to have cultural experiences.

In his spare time, Dexter enjoys recording and performing music, reading, and spending time with his 4 mentees. He lives by the philosophy that “A hard worker beats a talented person 9 out of 10 times… so be both.”
