OneRouge EBR Food Insecurity Coalition holds a successful Food Distribution event

BATON ROUGE – To help alleviate a time when food costs are increasing rapidly and families are bring stretched financially, OneRouge's East Baton Rouge Food Insecurity Coalition (EBRFIC) planned a food distribution event on December 15, 2021.

This pre-holiday food share at Ardenwood Village, an EBRPHA community, was spearheaded by Baton Roots, The Three O’Clock Project and the American Heart Association, joined together through the EBRFIC.

The Ascent Project, a community organization based at Ardenwood Village, also supported the distribution. Together, each partner worked to share farm-fresh greens, afterschool snacks, activities, and heart-healthy recipes and grocery shopping lists with over 90 families.

With the help of EBRFIC's efforts, Ardenwood Village families were able to have fresh greens to prepare meals for the holidays.
