The Walls Project Programs

The Walls Project operates several flagship programs in Dallas that collectively advance community wellness, creative expression, and workforce development. ReActivate Dallas mobilizes hundreds of volunteers for large-scale service events such as MLK Fest, Earth Day, Juneteenth, and Fall Fest combining neighborhood beautification, public art, and community resource engagement to foster civic pride and collective impact.

The Futures Fund serves as the organization’s youth and workforce development arm, providing afterschool programming through Culture Club and career pathway opportunities in areas such as digital media, culinary arts, barbering/cosmetology, public art, and urban agriculture. The program is designed to expose students to real-world skills, industry credentials, and pathways to economic mobility.


Public Art & Placemaking includes murals, installations, and community-driven art projects that reflect local history and culture, transforming public spaces and amplifying community voice.Together, these programs create a comprehensive ecosystem that integrates arts, agriculture, and workforce development to support thriving, equitable communities across Dallas.


Job Summary: 

The Futures Fund Program Coordinator (Dallas) is a dynamic, community-centered role responsible for leading Culture Club afterschool programming and supporting cross-program initiatives including ReActivate and Public Art. This role focuses on youth engagement, program logistics, and partnership development, ensuring high-quality, consistent programming for students across Dallas. The coordinator will work closely with school partners, community organizations, and internal teams to strengthen program delivery, increase student participation, and support the overall growth of youth development initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Culture Club Afterschool Programming

    • Lead the planning and implementation of Culture Club afterschool programming across partner schools in Dallas (including Scotlandville, Capitol, and additional partner sites).

    • Coordinate with school administrators, teachers, and afterschool partners to ensure seamless program delivery and alignment with school goals.

    • Develop and facilitate engaging, hands-on workshops focused on career exploration, workforce development, and creative skill-building.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with student participants to support consistent attendance and long-term engagement.

    • Track attendance, collect program data, and capture content (photos, videos, testimonials) for reporting and marketing.

    • Support recruitment efforts through school outreach, tabling, and community engagement to ensure diverse student participation.

    • Coordinate logistics for each session, including materials, food, incentives, and setup.

  2. ReActivate (Kid Zone & Youth Engagement)

    • Support planning and execution of ReActivate events with a focus on Kid Zone activation and youth engagement.

    • Lead logistics for Culture Club student participation at events, including coordination, supervision, and experience design.

    • Ensure a safe, engaging, and educational environment for youth and families during events.

    • Assist with event setup, breakdown, and coordination with vendors, volunteers, and partners.

    • Help strengthen youth-centered components of ReActivate through intentional programming and activities.


  1. School-Based Murals

    • Conduct site visits and create project management tasks, take site photos and gather contact information of school leadership and stakeholders

    • Assist in developing strategies to improve student, stakeholder and school leadership engagement

    • Build relationships with schools, community organizations, and families to increase awareness and participation.

    • Provide on-the-ground support during mural production including site management and mural unveiling logistics.

  2. JOLTcon:

    • Plan and execute the annual teen JOLTcon conference held in June.

    • Develop a unique and impactful approach to workforce development and creative exploration for teens.

    • Coordinate speakers, sponsors, volunteers and logistics to deliver a memorable conference experience including venue rental, AV needs, run-of-show, hospitality, staffing, and any other event-related coordination such as DJ, lighting and food

    • Arrange for incentives (giveaways)

    • Secure workshop topics along with presenters and breakout session leads

    • Order signage, banners, and printed materials

    • Manage run-of-show and timeline with production partners

    • Collaborate with graphics and marketing for promotional materials and approvals

    • Lead onsite coordination during the event

    • Confirm and record attendance numbers

Administrative Duties:

  • Help the Executive Director develop and manage program budgets, timelines, and resources.

  • Approves external workshop invoices, works with the vendor to ensure proper onboarding for payment is initiated. 

  • Manage the purchase and pick-up of supplies and hospitality for the programs. 

  • Ensure all receipts & Invoices are correct in the Dallas office

  • Tabling at community events

  • Coordinate with schools, community partners, and stakeholders to ensure successful program delivery.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, contractors, and staff involved in program activities.

  • Recruits participants for each event and program. 

  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, making adjustments as necessary to achieve goals.

  • Prepares all compliance and end-of-year reports and presentations for funders, board members, and community partners.

  • Promote programs through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and community events.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in program management, youth development, or community engagement

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and other relevant software.

  • Passion for community service and youth development

  • Strong attention to detail and operational efficiency

  • Effective communicator with a warm and professional demeanor and the ability to speak on the program in small or large groups

  • Deep passion for youth empowerment and community transformation

  • Must be a relationship-builder with people of all backgrounds—this work is about people

  • Agile and responsive to changing political, financial, and community climates

  • Willingness to work outdoors in extreme temperatures (heat and cold) during major events

  • Ability to pivot and problem-solve on the spot

  • Comfortable taking meetings, participating in strategic planning, and leading when needed

  • Must be flexible working across different program areas and shifting priorities

  • Available for some evenings and weekends


Preferred Qualifications and Digital Proficiency:

  • Experience working with teens and/or adult learners.

  • Knowledge of workforce development and digital literacy initiatives.

  • Familiarity with the So. Dallas community and its educational landscape.
