Building Community Through Art and Service
A little more color is coming to the Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge warehouse! The Walls Project has been working on a new mural featuring wildflowers, houses, and the organization's logo, bringing art to a space dedicated to helping our neighbors.
The mural is still a work in progress, but its design reflects the connection between homes, neighborhoods, and the communities that bring them to life. It's a fitting addition to the warehouse of an organization whose work is centered on making homes safer and healthier for Baton Rouge residents.
Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge provides critical home repairs for neighbors in need, particularly elderly homeowners, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Their work helps residents remain in their homes while addressing repairs that can make a meaningful difference in their safety and quality of life.
We're especially excited that this collaboration extends beyond the mural. Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge will be joining us for MLK Fest 2027, bringing their expertise to help provide critical home repairs for elderly residents in our community.
MLK Fest has always been about more than a single day of service. It's an opportunity to bring volunteers, organizations, and neighbors together to make lasting improvements throughout Baton Rouge. From public art and neighborhood beautification to projects that address everyday needs, each effort plays a part in building a stronger community.
And that's where you come in!
As we prepare for MLK Fest 2027, we're asking community members to help identify homes, neighborhoods, and public spaces that could benefit from some extra care. Whether it's a home in need of repairs, a neglected space ready for new life, or an opportunity to bring more art into the neighborhood, we want to hear your ideas.
Help us shape MLK Fest 2027 by nominating a location today!
