The Walls Project's Louisiana Executive Director, Dr. Ashlyn Harrison, recently traveled to Luanda, Angola, where she was invited to speak at the 14th Annual International Consortium for International Management, Policy & Development (CIMPAD) Conference—an international gathering of government leaders, educators, researchers, and changemakers focused on building stronger communities around the world.
As one of only a select group of U.S. speakers, alongside nationally recognized leaders including attorney Ben Crump, Dr. Harrison shared how The Walls Project is helping communities thrive through its unique approach to neighborhood revitalization.
Her presentation highlighted how lasting community change happens when people work together to connect public art, urban agriculture, workforce development, mental health, education, and civic engagement. She showcased The Walls Project as a successful model for creating healthier, more connected, and more resilient communities, and demonstrated that real transformation happens when people and partnerships come together with a shared purpose.
We're proud to see Dr. Harrison representing both Louisiana and The Walls Project on the international stage while sharing the impact of our work with leaders from around the world.
